Since the outside of the pile is wet and you aren't using that part, you're reducing the risk already. You could also mix in diatomaceous earth or agricultural lime to help control moisture and potential fungal growth.

You can cut feed waste by using a no-spill feeder or raising it to shoulder height. Chickens love to scratch feed out and waste it otherwise.

Any chance she got pecked on the head? Chickens can sometimes get bullied in the flock, and a head injury can lead to balance issues. Look closely for any swelling or scabs.

Since she's vocal about laying but not producing eggs, she could be experiencing reproductive issues like internal laying or egg binding. I'd check her abdomen for any swelling.

I haven't used that brand, but I painted my coop white to brighten it up. It helps reflect light and keeps it feeling airy inside. My biggest tip: make sure it's fully dry before the chickens move back in!

I've had a similar experience, and everything was fine! It's good they have variety in their diet, but too much fatty food can lead to some weight gain. Keep track of how they act the next few days, and make sure they're still getting enough of their regular food.
